Key song: "The Day We Hit the Coast"
I wonder if Clayton Park was supposed to be a metal album. The final album by the band Joel Plaskett, Rob Envie and co. started as teens veers into heavy riffage on tracks like "Violent Dreams" and "The Day We Hit the Coast," but it's ultimately too sloppy to get heavy. That's what makes it so charming. That and the guitarmonies, ’70s rock breakdowns and soaring Plaskett choruses. — D.S. on CBC Music
