Key song: “Secret Heart”
Ron Sexsmith is not thought of as a songwriter that typified the ’90s, per se; he defied the influence of grunge and was already a major label artist during the explosion of indie music in this country. In spite of that, his self-titled album deserves a spot. It came out in 1995 and is a Canadian classic, containing songs that still hold up today.
