Key song: “Shaved Head”
Whale Music hardly needs an introduction, being so often cited as one of the most influential albums in Canadian music, period, not just the period of the ’90s. Rheostatics also possibly have the most passionate fans — music critic Michael Barclay has said that he was inspired to write Have Not Been the Same: The Canrock Renaissance 1985-1995 in part because he wanted the Rheostatics to be taken seriously. This album, with its wit, weirdness and prog-pop tendencies (Neil Peart of Rush makes a guest appearance), is quintessentially Canadian and probably the band’s definitive release out of its 11 studio albums. — Andrea Gin on <a href=\\\"\\\">CBC Music</a>
