Biografie
Little Man Tate sind eine nach dem gleichnamigen Kinofilm benannte, vierköpfige Indie-Rockband aus Sheffield, England.
Die Band spielte zunächst unter dem Namen Carousel Moon, später nannte sie sich schlicht Moon. Für kurze Zeit präsentierten sie sich auch als Lazy Eye. Dadurch verlor die Band einen Teil ihrer Fangemeinde, der die ständigen Namensänderungen einfach nicht mitbekam. Nach ihrer Neugründung im Jahr 2005 erlangte die Gruppe um Sänger Edward "Maz" Marriot mit Hilfe des Internet-Netzwerkes myspace.com und ihres eigenen Internet-Forums erstmals auch überregionale Bekanntheit.
Im März 2006 unterschrieben sie einen Plattenvertrag beim britischen Indie-Label V2 Records und veröffentlichten seitdem fünf Singles und EPs. Am 29. Januar 2007 erschien ihr Debütalbum About What You Know, dessen Songs von eingängigen Melodien und aus dem Leben gegriffenen Texten geprägt ist. Ihre zwei bisher erfolgreichsten Singles sind die Titel Man I Hate Your Band und What? What You Got? wobei letzteres nicht auf dem LP vorzufinden ist. Vier ihrer fünf Singleveröffentlichungen landeten auf Anhieb in den britischen Top 100 Charts.

It's safe to say that when Jon, Maz, Ben and Dan, singer, guitarist, bassist and drummer in Little Man Tate, first got together under a year ago, they couldn't have been prepared for what lay ahead.
Then, they were four lifelong friends from Sheffield who'd spent their teens playing football, drinking and chasing girls together, in thrall of the sounds of Pulp, the Roses, the Pistols and Blur who formed a band for the simple pleasure of playing gigs.
Now, twelve months on, they're still four lifelong friends from Sheffield, still chasing the good times together, but on the verge of something a little bit special. The gigs are getting bigger and bigger, selling out in less and less time; the clamour for their debut single The Agent saw all 2000 copies sell out in no time at all, second single What? What You Got hit top 40 and with their debut album on the horizon, soon there'll be no more driving through the night from gigs to make it back in time for morning shifts at work.
